CONDUCT / DISCIPLINE
All the students must maintain an excellent conduct during their stay in the department. Disobedience and breach of the university / departmental rules will result in disciplinary actions including fine, expulsion and rustication from the department.
Each student seeking admission to this department should know that the department reserves the right to deny the admission to any student who have been found guilty of misconduct / indiscipline or against whom any official enquiry is pending.
Married women students are not eligible for admission to Bachelor of Physical Education course but they can take admission to Master of Physical Education course. However if they conceive during the course of studies, then they are required to discontinue the studies for that session.
ATTENDANCE & EXAMINATION
This Course is a practical oriented course where attendance is essential. As per the university rules 85% attendance in each theory subject and practical is required.
The students will have to appear at least in two sessional examinations which are conducted by the department during the session.
The final practical examination will be conducted by the department in the last week of Feb or first week of march. The final theory examination will be conducted by university examination section in the month of March/April.
UNIFORM
There is no prescribed uniform to attend the theory classes but the students have to attend all the practical classes in the prescribed sports kit. The sports kit is purchased by a committee of staffs and the students.
The students will be required to purchase the following sports kit through department:-
- Track Suit - 01
- T.Shirt - 02
- House T.Shirt - 01
- Shorts - 02
Note: The cost for sports kit will be collected from students.
RESERVATION
The reservation rules for the admission to any of the courses will be according to the reservation policy of the State Government.
No physically / mentally handicapped candidate will be given admission to any of the course in Physical Education.
Leadership Training Camp / Educational Tour
The department organises a leadership training camp for B.P.E. Ist year students at the end of the final examination. The duration of the camp is seven days . The purpose of this camp is to develop the leadership and the inherent qualities of the students by giving them exposure to outdoor life.
The educational tour is organised for M.P.E. final year students. The purpose of the tour is to provide them an opportunity to visit some of the leading institutes of physical education their facilities and organisation. A few lectures are also arranged during the tour by renowned teachers of Physical Education. The duration of the tour is also of seven days.
INTRAMURALS
The intramural is a regular feature of the department. The purpose of the intramural is to provide opportunity to the students to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship , competitiveness and group cohesiveness by organising various intramural competition in different games and sports under the guidance of the Intramural Director. This program also provides opportunity of competitive participation to those students who are not selected in the U.T.D. teams of different games & sports.
EXTRAMURAL
The students of the department participates in almost all Intercollegiate tournaments as a team member of the University Teaching Department (UTD).
